Weekly Snow Report and Events in the 3 Valleys

We are proud to announce… It’s SNOWING in the 3 valleys!  It has been ongoing since Friday evening and hasn’t stopped in the past 24 hours. Forecasts are reading around 40cm has fallen at resort level and 55cm higher up, today we are expecting another 6 – 9cm of snow!

The atmosphere in resort is fantastic with everyone turning into big kids; snowball fights, sledging, snowman making and Igloo building. Meribel and La Tania have been transformed back into glistening white Winter wonderlands.

Conditions on the piste are more forgiving with softer snow and mixed terrain to suit all levels. Some of the more advanced pistes such as Suisses in Courchevel are looking inviting, ready for Alpine adrenaline junkies to test their skills.

Temperatures are staying cold over the next 7 days with highs of -2 degrees and lows of -8 degrees. The coldest wind chill is forecast today with -14! Today the snow will continue falling lightly, tomorrow skies will clear for a sunny morning, then the clouds will come back in towards the afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday are forecast for light snow showers with Friday clearing up again for another beautiful, sunny (hopefully powder), day.

The Meribel valley currently has a reading of 43cm of snow at resort level (1450m) and 105cm at Altitude (2700m).

The Courchevel valley currently has a reading of 67cm at resort level (1850m) and 105cm at Altitude (2700m).

Avalanche risk is 3 out of 5, although we’ve had a lot of snow, please be aware of going off piste. The current snow pack is very unstable after compact conditions followed by heavy snowfall. Make the most of local knowledge available in resort and go out with a guide who knows the area and has expertise to assess the risk.

We want to keep you up to date with weekly events and happenings in the 3 valleys so here are some of the best bits to get you in the winter holiday spirit…
