What a week! The 3 Valleys is a Winter Wonderland with over half a meter of snow fallen in the past week, pistes have been left in prime condition. The weather forecast is looking favourable for the next 2 weeks as we continue into the second week of French and English school holidays. Thanks to the speedy 3 Valleys lift systems, queues are small and quick, so shredding the 600km of piste on offer is a breeze.
Looking at the weather forecast for the next week, today is similar to yesterday, with cloud, sun and this evening some light snow showers. Tuesday morning, is looking cloudy with sun popping out later in the afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday are looking the best days with full sunshine and clear skies – this would be a great opportunity for those staying in resort, to cover some distance and head to Val Thorens or the top of Le Masse in Les Menuires.
Friday has a mixed bag of weather with sunshine cloud and light snow showers. Temperatures over the next 7 days have highs of 0 degrees and lows of -7 degrees. The coldest wind chill is forecast on Friday at -11 degrees! Next week, current predictions show sunshine and warmer temperatures with lows of -1 degrees and highs of 8 degrees.
The Meribel valley currently has a reading of 50cm of snow at resort level (1450m) and 138cm at Altitude (2700m).
The Courchevel valley currently has a reading of 91cm at resort level (1850m) and 149cm at Altitude (2700m).
Avalanche risk is 3 out of 5, with most off piste runs tracked out we still recommend to only head off piste with the right equipment, knowledge and a local guide (click for more info).
