Weekly Snow Report and Events in the 3 Valleys… Featuring James Woods aka Woodsy!!!

What a special week we are having in the 3 Valleys… we hope you enjoyed our new #celebrity snow reporter James Woods aka Woodsy. This Team GB Freestyle skier, just won Gold at the Aspen Winter X Games 2017 in the Big Air competition and amongst other incredible achievements, was ranked 5th place at the Sochi Winter Olympic 2014. We will be discussing Woodsy in our Freestyle skiing blog at the end of the week so keep your eyes peeled for the feature.

Further exciting events happening in Meribel and La Tania this week include the Aerosnow Show in Meribel this Wednesday. Not to be missed, the display will be similar to the UK’s Red Arrows and start at 11:30am on the 22nd February, there will be a 20 minute show with French pilots flying over the Valley.

The weather is looking fabulous for the event, with sunshine forecast and continuing for the rest of the week. On Friday the clouds start to move in and heavy snowfall is due, Saturday the clouds will clear and blue skies with glorious sunshine continue into next week.

Temperatures are varied over the next 7 days with highs of -2 degrees and lows of -9 degrees. The coldest wind chill is forecast at -16!

The Meribel valley currently has a reading of 45cm of snow at resort level (1450m) and 122cm at Altitude (2700m).

The Courchevel valley currently has a reading of 77cm at resort level (1850m) and 116cm at Altitude (2700m).

Avalanche risk is 2 out of 5 and with the off piste skiing being fairly iced over we recommend staying on piste and enjoyed the beautifully groomed runs.

We want to keep you up to date with weekly events and happenings in the 3 valleys so here are some of the best bits to get you in the winter holiday spirit…
