Independent travel

Am independent travel ski holiday is the perfect way to travel at your own pace, limit your carbon footprint, avoid busy airports and the luggage restrictions. With an average journey time of around 10-12 hours from Calais, the Alps are easily accessible via an excellent network of motorways.  French autoroute tolls amount to approximately €80 each way, varying a little depending on your destination and route.

As independent travellers we would be grateful if you could let us know your itinerary so that we can pass the information onto resort staff.  Unless other arrangements have been agreed in writing, please remember that the accommodation will be ready from 4pm and that guests are asked to leave on the day of departure by 9am.

Do not forget the following:

  • Reflective vest

  • Valid driving license

  • Car registration document

  • Valid road tax

  • Insurance Papers (with green card if required)

  • Snow chains are essential - Police will not allow cars up the mountain if it is snowing without them.

As you approach Moutiers take the lane for the Bozel Valley where Meribel and Courchevel are sign-posted, turn right at the roundabout and proceed along the D915. Follow the road onto Bozel until you reach a small roundabout and there turn left for La Tania and Courchevel. As you enter La Praz, La Tania is signposted to your right, towards an Olympic ski Jumps. Drive up the hill towards La Tania, you will need to turn left so look for a car park area sign posted Parking du Saz on the left-hand side of the road, (if you reach the large cable station on your left, you have gone too far). Once in car park keep going straight on under the bridge in front of you.
