Non Skiers in Meribel

Things to do in Meribel

Meribel, like all ski resorts are mainly about skiing. However Meribel does have some alternative activities and some great amenities. There are fantastic facilities at the Meribel Olympic sports Centre with swimming pool, ten-pin bowling, ice-skating and even a climbing wall and are all superb choices for an afternoon. There is also a twice-weekly Meribel market with many stalls displaying a selection of cheeses, cured meats, confectionery and the occasional clothing bargain. There is a cinema, which does play VO (Version Original)  There are also many fashionable clothes and gift shops.

A pedestrian lift pass can be purchased .There are many scenic walks around Meribel and Mottaret and many of the mountain restaurants can be accessed from the gondolas,  offering a chance for a non-skier to meet with friends for lunch at the mountain restaurants and bathe on the sun terraces. It is also possible to get to Courchevel 1850.

Hot Air Ballooning

The views are stunning, and as you glide over the forests you may see deer and other animals that are normally hidden from view. Snowbiking

Snowmobiles are a great way to explore Meribel especially as you get to ride them when the resort is at its quietest. Disappear into the woods and blast around empty snow fields on your scooter with your own guide. Remember to wrap up warmly especially if you go after dark, and bring goggles if there is powder. This is not a sport for the timid!
