Chalet Hosts - A Couple or Two Friends


Working for Alpine Action as a Chalet Couple

Are you a lively person with a passion for food and skiing? 
As a Chalet Couple you will live and work with your partner to run a successful and welcoming chalet holiday to all our clients. It is essential that at least one half of the couple have cooking qualifications, professional cooking experience or be under taking a chalet styled cookery course. This is so you are confident in providing your clients with delicious cuisine during their holiday. This includes a cooked breakfast; freshly baked afternoon tea,
children’'s high tea, canapés and a 3-course evening meal 6 days a week. You should be well presented with a flexible happy attitude. 

  • Passionate about skiing/snowboarding, cooking and entertaining, be able to confidently cook to a high standard for 5/6 nights a week for adults & children.

  • An approachable and friendly nature is essential.

  • You will need to create a warm, friendly ‘home from home’ environment in your chalet.

  • Keep the chalet to a high standard of cleanliness, we do a mid week room clean and towel change and a daily clean of communal areas.

  • Running a chalet has the responsibility of food and wine ordering, linen inventories and shopping, all of which is monitored weekly by Resort Administrator/ Management.

Independent Chalet Host/Cook

Are you a lively person with a passion for food and skiing? 

As an independent Chalet Host you will work as part of a team and live with other staff members, but you will run your own small chalet to provide a successful and welcoming chalet holiday to all our clients. It is essential that you have cooking qualifications, professional cooking experience or be under taking a chalet styled cookery course. This is so you are confident in providing your clients with delicious cuisine during their holiday. This includes a cooked breakfast; freshly baked afternoon tea, children’s high tea, canapés and a 3-course evening meal 6 days a week. You should be well presented with a flexible happy attitude.

  • Although driving is not part of the job, you may be required to drive a vehicle at some point and will therefore need to be over 21 years old (for insurance purposes in the EU)

  • Passionate about skiing/snowboarding, cooking and entertaining, be able to confidently cook to a high standard for 6 people for 5/6 nights - adults & children.

  • An approachable and friendly nature is essential.

  • You will need to create a warm, friendly ‘home from home’ environment in your chalet.

  • Keep the chalet to a high standard of cleanliness, we do a mid week room clean and towel change and a daily clean of communal areas.

Driver/ Handyman

It is one of the most sort after jobs in Resort. As an Alpine Action driver/handyman you should be smart and presentable at all times, with a “can-do” attitude. You will need to be able to think on your feet in a wide range of situations. You will work as part of the team in Meribel. You should be a confident driver and have worked in a recognised qualified trade.  You’'ll need to be over 21 years and have a clean full license.

  • Confidently transport clients to and from the airports and provide shuttles to and from the slopes at the beginning and end of the day.

  • Maintaining the properties in resort by performing daily visits and dealing with any repair/maintenance work required.

  • The transportation of client luggage

  • The distribution of wine and chalet linen, with assistance of recycling around resort.

  • Snow clearance and hot-tub maintenance around the chalets. 

Resort Representative

Are you an experienced Chalet Host? Are you looking for a new challenge and progression?

(Please do not apply if you have not worked in a chalet before)

The Resort Representative will be part of a strong management team that is responsible for the operation of Alpine Action in Meribel and La Tania. 

(MUST BE FEMALE DUE TO SHARED ACCOMMODATION) 

The team is led by the Resort Manager and there will be Two Resort Reps supporting and reporting to Resort Manager. The team is assisted by the resort office and full time staff of Alpine Action.

The Resort Rep will be directed and assisted by the Resort Manager in all the duties, you will be expected to represent Alpine Action in resort to clients and suppliers in a professional manner. Smart and professional appearance in the uniform provided is an important part of this role.  Illustrate good knowledge of resort and its services to our clients and other staff. 

Implement the policy of Alpine Action in respect of chalet staff and drivers. This involves the monitoring of chalets to ensure the product provided is as described on Alpine Action website. 

You will need to: 

  • Approachable and bubbly personality

  • Have worked in a chalet 

  • Well presented & Highly organised

  • Good at problem solving

  • Kind natured and caring towards staff and guests needs

  • Hospitality Experience

  • Customer service experience

  • Competent Skier or Snowboarder

  • Previous Chalet Host or Resort Representative experience desirable  

  • Good working knowledge of French desirable, but not essential

  • Knowledge of the 3 Valleys desirable, but not essential

  • UK National Insurance Number and Bank account.

  • Driving license, held for at least 3 years and must be over the age of 21 years  

  • Completely availability for the role from beginning of December to end of April 2020.
